RICHARD HOAG

Rich is an accomplished actor and has appeared in over 75 plays and musicals both amateur and professional.  Among his musical credits are The Music Man, Oklahoma, West Side Story, 1776, Cabaret, Company, Camelot, You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown, Little Mary Sunshine, Carousel and I Do I Do.  Play credits include Dancing at Lughnasa, Prelude to a Kiss, Terra Nova, Mr. Roberts, Five Finger Exercise, Private Eyes and Taking Sides.   He has won four Independent Theatre Awards for his performances in Emma’s Child, Neville’s Island, The Beauty Queen of Leenane and Fuddy Meers.   Last year Rich portrayed the despicable Bob Ewell in the SBCCTG production of To Kill a Mockingbird, and recently performed his one-man show, “Will Rogers’ America ,” at the Flying Leap Storytelling Festival in Santa Ynez.

Professionally, Rich is a show designer and producer.  He is a native Santa Barbaran and a graduate of UCSB.   In his spare time, he serves on the advisory board of the Rubicon Theatre in Ventura , and is a mentor for the Ensemble Theatre’s Young Playwrights Program.  He is married to well-known Santa Barbara watercolorist, Ruth Ellen Hoag.
