MELINDA YAO
Melinda
Yao hails from Hunting Park, California. She developed an early love for theatre
while attending Los Angeles Center for the Enriched Studies, a performing arts
high school. During her college years at UC Berkeley, she studied modern dance
and Graham technique with David and Marni Wood and
performed with the Bay Area Repertory Theatre. Melinda took a hiatus from
performing to pursue a Master's degree in Comparative Literature from UC Santa
Cruz. Her world travels have taken her to England, Germany, Mexico, Switzerland,
Thailand, France, Italy, Denmark, the Greek islands and Hawaii. While she
delights in reading stories, she's penning a few volumes of her own. Melinda is
a reporter for the Valley Voice and she's grateful to live in the central coast
with her husband, Steve.
