MARGARET KEMP
Margaret Kemp is making her Speaking of Stories debut. She was part of
the world premiere of Tom Walker at Arena Stage earlier this season.
Other theatre credits include the Ensemble Theatre Company’s production of As
Bees in Honey Drown. Additionally, she appeared at A.S.K. Theatre Project’s
series playing numerous roles in Kia Corthron’s Breath, Boom. She was
part of the cast in the Mark Taper Forum’s production of the Ovation
Award-winning The Cider House Rules, playing Rose Rose and various other
characters. She was nominated for a Drama Critics Award for Outstanding Lead
Actress for her portrayal of Thyme in the Yale Repertory Theatre’s and
Baltimore Center Stage’s co-production of Corthron’s Splash Hatch on the
E Going Down. Her work in the U.S. premiere of Athol Fugard’s My Life
was honored with a Valley Critics Award. As a writer she currently is working on
a new show to be presented as The Deb Margolin Project. While from
Boston, she considers herself a Chicagoan and has worked in that city at
Steppenwolf Theatre, Wisdom Bridge and Shakespeare Chicago.
