Margaret Kemp is making her Speaking of Stories debut. She was part of the world premiere of Tom Walker at Arena Stage earlier this season. Other theatre credits include the Ensemble Theatre Company’s production of As Bees in Honey Drown. Additionally, she appeared at A.S.K. She was part of the cast in the Mark Taper Forum’s production of the Ovation Award-winning The Cider House Rules, playing Rose Rose and various other characters. She was nominated for a Drama Critics Award for Outstanding Lead Actress for her portrayal of Thyme in the Yale Repertory Theatre’s and Baltimore Center Stage’s co-production of Corthron’s Splash Hatch on the E Going Down. Her work in the U.S. premiere of Athol Fugard’s My Life was honored with a Valley Critics Award. As a writer she currently is working on a new show to be presented as The Deb Margolin Project. While from Boston, she considers herself a Chicagoan and has worked in that city at Steppenwolf Theatre, Wisdom Bridge and Shakespeare Chicago.
