KATIE THATCHER
Katie
Thatcher is thrilled to be back with Speaking of Stories. This is
Katie's 4th appearance with SOS, but feels doubly lucky to be working with her
dear friend Maggie Mixsell who always makes her feel safe and more talented then
she really is! Santa Barbara audiences last saw Katie in the lead role of
Miranda in SBCCTG's production of Expecting Isabel this past summer
and this past spring as Luba in The Lady and The Clarinet, also
directed by Maggie Mixsell . Expecting Isabel marked Katie's 13th
appearance with the SBCC Theatre Group. Over the years Katie had been honored
with 3 Independent Theatre Awards for various work done at both SBCCTG and
Ensemble Theatre Group. A native of Wisconsin, Katie relocated here some 16
years ago (when she was a mere child) and rediscovered her passion for music and
theater. Katie has also worked in film and television and you may recognize her
from some local commercials done over the years. Katie teaches drama and vocal
performance to the area children of the Santa Ynez Valley through a non-profit
organization called Arts Outreach, a group she feels fiercely proud to be a part
of. She dedicates her performance to Sweet Tom, the bravest person she has ever
had the honor of knowing and loving.
