EMMA-JANE HUERTA
Emma-Jane Huerta is a performer, a playwright, and a theatre director. She is currently the Artistic Director of Upstarts Youth Theatre and is in rehearsal for their next production:
Dracula, 93101.
As a performer, she has been seen on stages all over Santa Barbara and has won numerous awards for her work. She was a 15 -year member of the Ensemble Theatre Company.
She worked previously with George Backman in the award-winning TAG production of The Tempest. They have performed together for Speaking of Stories before: an evening of Maupassant's writing; and a Speaking of Stories collaboration with the Santa Barbara Museum of Art, where they performed work about and inspired by Henri de Toulouse- Lautrec. They also participated together in a production of the music and writings of Stephan Lackner at Center Stage Theater in Santa Barbara and at the Goethe Institute in Los Angeles.
Emma-Jane owns and operates the Iyengar Yoga Studio of Santa Barbara with her husband, Richard McLaughlin. She has lived in Santa Barbara for 22 years.
