JERRY KROLL
Jerry
Kroll, an advocate of bringing literature to life onstage, is pleased to be a
regular performer with Speaking of Stories. Kroll began his film-acting
career in 2001 and already has won major roles in feature films. In just a few
years, he has established himself as an actor who is equally adept at light,
comedic roles and gritty drama.
Kroll’s first major co-starring role was in the film Second to Die as Raymond “Skooch” Scucello (New Concorde, 2002).
Two years later, he played Sheriff Merle Karnopp in Starkweather (ThinkFilm, 2004), a crime drama based on the true
story of a 1950s-era serial killer.
Starkweather was previewed at the
Cannes Film Festival in 2004 and received high praise from viewers.
Kroll
is currently under contract for a three-picture deal with Bookmark Pictures and
in June of 2004, completed principal photography for his first starring role as
detective Gary Hill in the cop-thriller feature film Officer Down (2005). Following
that, he is scheduled to star in Bookmark’s action/thriller feature film Roadkill
(2005) as well as a third movie for the production company scheduled for release
in 2006.
Kroll’s interest in acting was sparked after Shelly Winters arranged for him
to attend Lee Strasberg’s Actors Studio as an observer. He made his acting
debut as Sylvio in the stage production of Private
Wars with the Westside Repertory Company, followed by appearances in a
number of regional stage productions.
