GORDON CLAPP
Clapp was also featured the blockbuster, Rules of Engagement, and The Rage: Carrie 2. He next stars alongside Treat Williams and Linda Hamilton in the psychological thriller Skeletons in the Closet. Prior to "NYPD Blue," Clapp guest starred on numerous series, including "Wings," "Cheers," "Night Court" and "Civil Wars." He performed extensively in TV movies, starring opposite Farrah Fawcett in Small Sacrifices and John Corbett in The Morrison Murders, as well as Hands of a Stranger and Mission of the Shark. Armed with a theatre degree from prestigious Williams College, the New Hampshire native spent much of his early career in Canada as a company member of Ottawa’s premiere National Arts Center, and appearing for three seasons in the USA Network sitcom "Check It Out!" with Don Adams. His guest appearance on the Canadian drama series "Street Legal" garnered him a nomination for a Gemini Award, Canada’s equivalent to the Emmy. Clapp hit national attention for his work in the landmark film, Return of the Secaucus Seven, from critically acclaimed independent director John Sayles. He then went on to star in two subsequent Sayles films, Matewan and Eight Men Out. Last spring, he filmed Sayles’ new feature, Sunshine State in Florida, with Edie Falco and Angela Bassett. Sunshine State is due to be released June, 2002. When he’s not acting, Clapp can be found on a golf course or cheering on the Chicago Bears. |
