DAN GUNTHER

Dan Gunther is familiar to Santa Barbara theatre audiences from his work at the Ensemble Theatre Company, including: Albert Einstein in Steve Martin’s Picasso at the Lapin Agile; this season’s Side Man; As Bees in Honey Drown; Sight Unseen; and Ganesha in the West Coast premiere of Terrence McNally’s A Perfect Ganesh (Independent Theatre Award). Other theatre includes a reprise of Ganesha at L.A’s Odyssey theatre (L.A. premiere), and Shaw’s Misalliance and Sondheim’s Assassins, both with the L.A. Repertory Company. Dan performed in fifteen productions at San Diego’s Old Globe Theatre where he received a Master of Fine Arts in Drama. Film work includes: starring roles in Cannes Film Festival award winner Denise Calls Up (which had its world premiere at the Santa Barbara Film Festival), and Sundance Film Festival entry Lewis & Clark & George, and supporting roles in Takeshi Kitano’s Brother, and Dreamworks’ Galaxy Quest. Television: Recurring role on Melrose Place, guest spots on ER, The West Wing, The Wayans Brothers. He has enjoyed Santa Barbara so much that he recently moved here with his wonderful wife and their dog, Karma.
