WILLIAM TREVOR William Trevor (1928– ) – Born in County Cork, Ireland, Trevor graduated from Trinity College, in Dublin, with a degree in history. A prolific short story writer, novelist, and playwright, he has published over 30 works and won over 20 literary awards, including the Whitbread Book of the Year Award for Felicia’s Journey and the 2002 Booker Prize for The Story of Lucy Gault. He has also been awarded the Companion of Literature, the David Cohen British Literature Prize, the Irish Times Irish Literature Prize for Fiction, the Macmillan Silver Pen Award for Short Stories, and the PEN/AT Cross for lifetime achievement. Though most of his stories take place in Ireland, he now lives in Devon, England. |
