KATHARINE BRUSH
Katharine Brush (1901–1952)- Born Katharine Ingham, in
Middletown, Connecticut, she was married and divorced twice, the first time to
Thomas Stewart Brush, the owner of a chain of newspapers in Ohio.
She began writing fiction in 1923, and reached national recognition with
the bestsellers Young Man of Manhattan (1930) and Red-Headed Woman (1931).
Her collection of short stories, Night Club, appeared in 1929, and her
semi-autobiographical novel, This Is on Me, appeared in 1940. She wrote a
number of short stories, novels, articles and screenplays until her death, in
1952.
