GREGORY MACDONALD

Gregory Mcdonald insists that he was educated while earning his way through Harvard by creating and running an international yacht trouble-shooting business. Twice the winner of the Edgar Allan Poe award, past president of the Mystery Writers of America, described by critics as the inventor of the sunlight mystery and "The Master of the Pointed Story", Mcdonald has published 26 volumes (15 of which are mysteries) including the Fletch, Flynn, Son of Fletch and Skylar series. Other Mcdonald titles include Exits and Entrances, Merely Players, A World Too Wide and Safekeeping. Four feature films have been made from his works: Running Scared, Fletch, Fletch Lives and The Brave. In France , his novel The Brave (Rafael, derniers jours) was elected Trophees 813 Best Foreign Novel 1997.

A recipient of humanitarian and "people" rights awards, Mcdonald worked for 7 years for the Boston Globe, as a writer for the Sunday Magazine, critic, Arts & Hummanities Editor, critic-at-large columnist, and member of The Editorial Board.

Originally a New Englander, Mcdonald now lives on and operates an ante bellum cattle farm in Tennessee .
