ANDRE DUBUS

Andre Dubus is the author of nine works of fiction including the highly acclaimed Pulitzer Prize runner-up Broken Vessels (1992) and the National Book Critics Circle finalist Dancing After Hours (1997). His writing often drew on his experiences, including his confinement to a wheelchair after losing a leg in an accident in 1986.

He has received the PEN/Malamud Award, the Rea Award for excellence in short fiction, the Jean Stein Award from the American Academy of Arts and Letters, the Boston Globe's first annual Lawrence L. Winship Award, and fellowships from both the Guggenheim and MacArthur Foundations. He lives in Haverhill, Massachusetts.
