LINDA STEWART-OATEN
Linda
Stewart-Oaten’s story, Myrttie by Moonlight won first prize for fiction
at the Santa Barbara Writers Conference several years ago but, as she discovered
in 2005, there’s no thrill like having your work read before a Speaking of
Stories audience. Some of her other short stories and nonfiction have appeared
in Writing Humor (by Ian Bernard), The Sun, Kalliope, The Eureka Literary
Magazine, Barbaric Yawp, The Chattahoochee Review, The Santa Barbara
Independent, and in Braille published by the British Royal National
Institute of the Blind. After two years in Australia, she’s home in
Santa Barbara, working on the obligatory novel.
